Selling Cosplay Prints Using Rhetorical Appeals

Cosplaying is a fun hobby that requires a lot of creativity but also it requires money. Buying costumes or creating costumes from scratch can become rather expensive after a while.

Selling prints of photos from cosplay photo shoots is a great way to make a small profit to help continue to make new cosplays.

Rhetorical appeals are a great way to capture your buyers and sell your products.

Pathos

Using pathos to sell cosplay prints is very effective and brings out the sentimental side of cosplaying.

After going through all the work of creating a cosplay it becomes a lot more than just a costume. Its all your hard work and love bundled up in a project you are passionate about.

And throughout the process of designing and creating a character through a cosplay you really get to know your character. Its almost as if you become friends with this fictional character.

Expressing the work and love you’ve put into creating your cosplay and final product is a great way to advertise and sell cosplay prints.

Logos

Using logos to sell cosplay prints is extremely effective if you express how much hard work goes into each cosplay. Cosplay photos take a while to plan, design, create costumes, sets, and edit the pictures.

For example, my Harley Quinn photos took a few months to finish. The costume took over a month to make and my grandparents spent a few weeks building my hand painted set.

Once we had everything finished we had to take the photos, which took a few hours.

Explaining the details of how much work, time, and money went into each photo the buyer can tell the quality of your work and that they are investing in a well made product.

Ethos

Ethos can be used when selling cosplay photos if you share how much experience you have in cosplaying.

Cosplaying, just like any other hobby, can take a lot of time and effort to become well know or professional.

In the description of your product include a short biography of the work you’ve done in the past. Try to include details such as how long you’ve been involved in creating your product, how many other similar projects you have completed, if you’ve been recognized for your work, or how your work has made an impact on the world.
